In 1989 I decided to protest the valuation of my office building - going in cold, I quickly determined that I needed to become a student of the appraisal system and what information to provide to the appraisers to aid in acquiring a reduction in my property tax. I went back during the next appraisal cycle and was able to receive a sizable reduction in my taxes. I realized there was a need for experienced property tax representation and I earned a reputation as an honest person who would diligently represent those who asked for my help. I continue to represent individuals and I will tell them immediately if I think they should appeal their taxes. I manage property tax appeals for office buildings, retail and apartment complexes but specialize in vacant ground appeals because of the high value being placed on such ground. As a result, we have been able to save the individuals we work with millions of dollars in property taxes while making sure the correct classification is assigned to their property. We also work to maintain this classification and guarantee that this tremendous reduction in tax will continue.
